What is your job, and how long have you worked for ZITON?
I have been a Head of Operational Sales at ZITON since January 2019, dealing with a selected customer base from initial enquiry through to contract signature, handover to Operations, and follow-up during execution and invoicing – alongside attending conferences and exhibitions and managing customer relationships.
What does it take to perform at your best in your job?
Cooperation with colleagues creates joint success, along with the trust and freedom to get the job done at my own pace, and opportunities to develop myself as a person.
What is the most challenging part of the job for you?
Working remotely is the most challenging part of the job for me, as it means less day-to-day face time with colleagues and customers, so it takes extra discipline and clear communication to stay connected and aligned with the team.
What motivates you to go to work every day?
Making a difference to the environment by getting wind turbines repaired – a job that has real meaning – is what motivates me to go to work every day.
What do you think is the most remarkable or exciting case you have worked on? And why?
There is not a single project that stands out as the coolest; rather, it is the variety and complexity of the projects that requires out-of-the-box thinking, such as decommissioning projects.
Contractually, I have been working on some contracts for more than a year, while some of the best relationships and cooperation have been developed over many years. The most challenging projects have been the decommissioning of met masts, and establishing new contacts and new markets is definitely exciting and requires real effort.
Seeing the market boom and experiencing the growth of turbines has been impressive to be part of. Offshore wind has been an essential part of my professional career since 2007 – I have worked in every stage of a wind farm’s lifetime, from development and installation to operation and decommissioning of WTGs – and finding solutions to everyday challenges together with our customers is probably the most satisfying part of the job.
How has your work developed you as a person?
Facing new challenges on a regular basis, and dealing with claims and contract negotiations, has helped me develop my competence and grow as a person.
Why is this your dream job?
ZITON feels like a second home to me, with great colleagues who make you feel comfortable and part of a close-knit team
What do you like to spend your free time doing?
In my free time, I enjoy working out, doing yoga and playing tennis, as well as going hiking and travelling whenever I get the chance.
