DBB Jack-Up signs framework agreement with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind

DBB Jack-Up Services A/S has signed a framework agreement with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind A/S for offshore wind operations and maintenance services.

Years of successful cooperation between DBB Jack-Up and MHI Vestas Offshore Wind have now resulted in the signing of a framework agreement for offshore wind operations and maintenance services between the two companies.

“As an experienced jack-up vessel provider, DBB Jack-Up has supported our offshore O&M work during the last 7 years and this framework agreement is only a natural step in the further strengthening of our working relationship,” said Asger Pedersen, Senior Director of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind A/S and continues: “We are confident that both parties will benefit from this agreement as it will facilitate a more efficient planning and execution of our O&M tasks.”

MHI Vestas has delivered wind turbines to almost 20 different offshore wind power plants in Northern Europe and this framework agreement covers all sites which MHI Vestas Offshore Wind still has the O&M responsibility for.

“The framework agreement will further build on the effective working relationship between DBB Jack-Up and one of the world’s largest offshore wind players MHI Vestas Offshore Wind,” said Thorsten Jalk, CEO of DBB Jack-Up A/S and concludes: “With contractual terms and conditions pre-arranged in the framework agreement, we can now concentrate our efforts on a safe and fast execution of the job.”

With more than 370 major component replacements, DBB Jack-Up’s J/U WIND is the industry’s most experienced O&M jack-up vessel. To supplement the success of J/U WIND, DBB Jack-Up’s services will soon be strengthened by one newbuild and one converted jack-up. The new build, J/U WIND SERVER, is an industry first and its capabilities will offer speed and flexibility to the customers in getting wind turbines repaired as fast and safe as possible. The converted jack-up, J/U WIND PIONEER, is specially designed for shallow water locations and challenging seabed profiles.
