Chief Steward at J/U WIND SERVER

What is your role and how long have you worked for ZITON?

I work as a Chief Steward at J/U WIND SERVER and am responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and hotel, and have been employed by ZITON since 2015.

What does it take for you to function best in your work?

I perform best in my job when things are working smoothly, which is the case at ZITON. I work well with freedom and responsibility, and I feel that we have great trust in each other’s professionalism onboard the vessel.

What is the most challenging part of your job for you?

There is a lot of coordination and planning in my job, and it takes effort to get everything to come together, especially when there are changes in projects or delays in deliveries. In those situations, I need to be creative to make it all work, but fortunately, me and my team are good at that.

What motivates you to go to work every day?

I enjoy my work, my colleagues, and the community onboard. I work for four weeks where I am away from my family, but in return, I have four weeks off where I am home with my family. That also means that I have four consecutive weeks of free time where I am fully present with my family.

Why is this your dream workplace?

ZITON is my dream workplace because there is a lot of freedom in the job, and when I am away, I have the freedom to do things my way. When I am home, I have plenty of continuous free time.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I spend most of my free time with my family, doing small home projects, and training.
