What is your job, and how long have you worked for ZITON?
I have been working as an HSEQ Officer since December 2022, and I have previously worked on board ZITON vessels as Chief Officer for about four years.
What does it take to perform at your best in your job?
The office is a busy environment, meant in a positive way. I do my best to focus on thorough and clear communication and work on making onboard work life as safe as possible. In this regard, it helps previously having sailed onboard our vessels.
What is the most challenging part of the job for you?
It is a relatively new area of work for me, so I am meeting new and exciting challenges all the time.
What motivates you to go to work every day?
In our department, we are constantly looking at improving all aspects of health and safety, and it motivates me to be able to make work processes safer and smoother for all our seafarers.
What do you think is the most remarkable or exciting case you have worked on? And why?
No special cases come to mind.
How has your work developed you as a person?
Both as a seafarer in ZITON and working in the office I feel the same level of engagement from colleagues, and it inspires me to be at the same level. We try to help each other and show good seamanship – onboard and in the office.
Why is this your dream job?
It is motivating, and I get to work with my colleagues from the vessels.
What do you like to spend your free time doing?
Amateur carpentry and being with my family.
